MTTTL Mid-Season Report 2015

This season three Juniors have made the biggest improvements in the MTTTL so far :-
Max Day +310 league rating points, Nathan Round +243 and Harry Jones +171. At Chatham Table Tennis Club we are proud to have 8 Juniors playing competitive league matches each week.

In the Premier Division it has been a struggle for Chatham TT Club’s elite teams Ark Royal (played 8 / 26 points) and Belfast (7 / 17). They both lie just off the bottom but fortunately Anchorians are struggling even worse and Upnor had to drop out of the division through lack of players, so both should be safe from the ‘drop’ this season. A notable signing by Belfast is Sittingbourne champion Allen Crowe although he has only played one match at present.
Top players are :- Jamie Somerset 5/12 (42%), Stuart Fritter 9/23 (39%) and Dave McAulay 7/20 (35%).

In Division One Cumberland (11 / 67) are enjoying a great season and are handily placed third at present just outside the promotion places. They will no doubt retain their place in the division although they is a fair gap from the best two teams barring one of them slipping up.
Star players are :- Richard Feaver 17/21 (81%), Tunde Jotham 7/9 (78%) and Harry Jones 16/21 (76%).

In Division Two Dorset are looking doomed to relegation and are currently bottom with only 26 points from 11 matches played. They are already 13 points below that required to keep them safe with that gap only likely to widen during the second half, although with Steve Wadey playing again their final points tally may be better than expected.
Best performers :- Gareth Dewdney 6/15 (40%) and Asim Yusef 9/23 (39%).

In Division Three, Endurance (10 / 70) and Furious (10 / 65) are doing great, whilst Hector (11 / 26) and Gannet (9 / 19) are at the bottom as expected. New players to the league with little experience are put into these teams and to that effect Stephen Maher, Michael Gibbs, Alex Low and Luke Barnard are progressing well. If we can get at least one of the top teams currently second and third promoted it will make up for Dorset going the other way.
Top players :- Doug Murray 24/30 (80%), Max Day 16/21 (76%), Malcolm Kay 18/24 (75%), Ian Kelly 22/30 (73%), Paul Cullern 12/18 (67%), Roger Chipperfield 11/18 (61%), Chris Morford 14/24 (58%), Sean Durkin 10/18 (56%) and Nathan Round 15/33 (46%).

Have a great Christmas and New Year and hopefully I can share news of great individual and team performances in the second half of the season.
