LARKFIELD FRIENDLY

 

Three of our promising junior players played a junior Larkfield TTC team in a pre-season friendly and came out on top with a superb 8-1 win.

Joel Shopland, Sean Weddell and Shaun Gutteridge produced a magnificent display of skills to defeat 3 very talented youngsters from our fellow Premier Club who play in the Maidstone League.

This is a fixture that we arrange as part of our joint obligation to maintain contact with other ETTA registered Premier Clubs. Two seasons ago, the result was exactly the opposite – an 8-1 victory for Larkfield.

Despite the final score line, every game was closely contested with 4 pairings going 4 legs and one excellent game going the distance.

The Larkfield trio of Alan Cooper, Sam Butterworth and Luke Savill (coached by Mark Walsh) put up some stern resistance. Ten year-old Luke notched their single success in overcoming Joel in the 5 th leg of their match.

We are sure that Larkfield will be as equally proud of their lads as we are of our three and, combined, they represent the exciting potential within both clubs.
